As I promised here we are with a Sleek Palette tutorial.
In this series of tutorials I'll try to use Sleek palettes exlusivly, but it won't be always possible, so I'm going to mention it if it's the case.
For this look I've used Sleek Snapshot palette.
Look in natural light |
Look in artificial light. You can actually see the central color changes with the light, as in this picture there's kind of a green color in the outer part of the eye, though it's the same color. |
Recreate this look:
- Apply your favorite eye-primer all over the lid and below your eyebrows. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original.
- With a flat shadow brush take the lilac color from Snapshot palette (4th on 1st row) and apply it in the inner corner of the eye. If you want a more metallic effect out of this shadow you can dampen your brush before applying.
- With a clean flat brush take the duochrome blue/gold (right next to lilac) and apply it all over the lid, stopping at the crease.
- In the crease we're going to apply the bright orange (last on the first row). To do this, take a small blending brush and gently apply it in the crease and upwards, creating a sort of V shape. NOTE: be careful with this color as it's extremely pigmented, apply less product, blend it and then intensify if you're not satisfied with the payoff.
- Once blended the orange, we're going to darken the crease with a dark purple shade (the one right below the blue we've already used). To do this I've used a small pencil brush and then blended with the brush I used for the orange. Keep blending and intensifying until you're satisfied.
- For highlighting under the brows and soften any harsh lines I've simply used a white matte color.
- Now take your favourite black gel eyeliner and trace a bold line along the lashes. I've used L'Oreal Gel Intenza in Black.
- Apply a bit of the blue and the lilac below your waterline.
- Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I used the Volume Vertige mascara by Yves Rocher.
- Trace your waterline with a black pencil. I used Nabla Velvetline in Bombay Black for this step.
And you're done ;)
What do I think about this palette?
I think Snapshot is one of my all-time favorites from Sleek. I simply love the color combination they came up with and the color are so amazingly pigmented, even the matte shades. Of course it's a great palette for those who love colors, but I think I wouldn't reccomend this one for the neutral-lovers.
To add more to the mix, this palette it's only 10€ and has 12 shades in it, so a pretty good deal!
In conclusion I love this palette and I reccomend you check this out :D!
My Vote: 9/10
