Review Magica CC Capelli di Collistar

Ciao a tutti ragazzi!

Come funziona?

A sx Medavita a dx Collistar

Sunset colors: Snapshot palette tutorial 1

Hi everyone and welcome back!
As I promised here we are with a Sleek Palette tutorial.

In this series of tutorials I'll try to use Sleek palettes exlusivly, but it won't be always possible, so I'm going to mention it if it's the case.

For this look I've used Sleek Snapshot palette.

Look in natural light

Look in artificial light. You can actually see the central color changes with the light, as in this picture there's kind of a green color in the outer part of the eye, though it's the same color.

Recreate this look:

  1. Apply your favorite eye-primer all over the lid and below your eyebrows. I used Urban Decay Primer Potion in Original.
  2. With a flat shadow brush take the lilac color from Snapshot palette (4th on 1st row) and apply it in the inner corner of the eye. If you want a more metallic effect out of this shadow you can dampen your brush before applying.
  3. With a clean flat brush take the duochrome blue/gold (right next to lilac) and apply it all over the lid, stopping at the crease.
  4. In the crease we're going to apply the bright orange (last on the first row). To do this, take a small blending brush and gently apply it in the crease and upwards, creating a sort of V shape. NOTE: be careful with this color as it's extremely pigmented, apply less product, blend it and then intensify if you're not satisfied with the payoff.
  5. Once blended the orange, we're going to darken the crease with a dark purple shade (the one right below the blue we've already used). To do this I've used a small pencil brush and then blended with the brush I used for the orange. Keep blending and intensifying until you're satisfied.
  6. For highlighting under the brows and soften any harsh lines I've simply used a white matte color.
  7. Now take your favourite black gel eyeliner and trace a bold line along the lashes. I've used L'Oreal Gel Intenza in Black.
  8. Apply a bit of the blue and the lilac below your waterline.
  9. Curl your lashes and apply mascara. I used the Volume Vertige mascara by Yves Rocher.
  10. Trace your waterline with a black pencil. I used Nabla Velvetline in Bombay Black for this step.
And you're done ;)

What do I think about this palette?
I think Snapshot is one of my all-time favorites from Sleek. I simply love the color combination they came up with and the color are so amazingly pigmented, even the matte shades. Of course it's a great palette for those who love colors, but I think I wouldn't reccomend this one for the neutral-lovers.
To add more to the mix, this palette it's only 10€ and has 12 shades in it, so a pretty good deal!

In conclusion I love this palette and I reccomend you check this out :D!

My Vote: 9/10

Sleek palettes swatches pt.1

Hi everyone!
It's been a while since I've written a post here, in the meantime I was browsing my makeup collection and I realized I have quite a lot of palettes by Sleek.
I think almost everyone by now knows Sleek makeup, for those who don't it's an English drugstore makeup brand, which it has become more and more famous mainly because of the excellent (and super affordable) palettes this brand makes.

For those wandering: yes, you can easily shop online on their website http://www.sleekmakeup.com/

In these posts (this is the first part of 2 in total) I'll show you the swatches of all the palettes that I own, indicating the type of shadow and describing the color. However I won't do a detailed review of each palette here (stay tuned if you want to know my opinion on each one :)!). In the upcoming weeks I'm planning to do at least one makeup tutorial for each palette that I'm going to show you, so if you're interested keep checking ;).

The best and worst products of the last 2-3 months! Pt. 2: ...the worst

Here is the second part of the post with the worst products of the last 2-3 months.

Sooo let's get started.

Foundation:
I wanted to start with this foundation because this is probably the most disappointing product I've ever bought. I'm talking of Immaculate Liquid to Powder Foundation from Hourglass.

This is probably the most expensive foundation I've ever seen around, the price was around 65€. It's supposed to be the holy grail foundation for those who have oily skin because it's very matte and it's supposed to stay matte all day.
Why I don't like it: I don't like this foundation at all for several reasons. First of all the coverage it's not even sheer, it's inexistent if you apply only one layer and, on the contrary of what the official site says, IT'S NOT BUILDABLE. If you want more coverage from this foundation forget it: as soon as you start to apply the second layer, patches start to appear all over your face and if you managed somehow to apply a smooth and even first layer this will be messed up in no time. This happens because this foundation dries so quickly you don't even have time to blend it on the skin, and once it dries it's completly matte. I've tried soo many times to get this right because of the crazy price of this foundation but I just can't apply it even. I've tried with all kinds of brushes, with my fingers, with a primer... nothing works!
The only time I went out with this foundation on I got oily in my T-zone in less than 3 hours (and I haven't got extremely oily skin...) and it started to get patchy.
On top of all, this product was not easy to find... as you may know Hourglass sells its products in US but it's extremely difficult to find them in EU.
Absolute waste of money.

Eyeliner:
This one was a stab in the heart... I was so excited when I bought this because it's the number 1 black pencil, every one loves it. Yes, I'm talking about the Urban Decay - Perversion Eyeliner.

I actually bought a double pencil because the Perversion by itself was out of stock and I was impatient to try it.
At first when I swatched it on my hand it seemed perfect: super intense, smooth, dries to a matte finish in a while. The real problem with this pencil occurs if you put it in the waterline and you wear contacts. For some kind of reason after 10-15 minutes after I applied this in the water line i started to get a blurry vision of my surroundings and I didn't understand what was going on. It was also kind of dangerous because I was driving! After I arrived at university i removed my contacts and washed them carefully, but after a few minutes there we go again. Only a day later I realized this pencil was the guility! It creates a sort of oily film on the contacts. I tried to use it only on my lid but the duration it's not so great! I much prefer my Nabla pencil!
Nono!

Concealer:
Another product from Urban Decay, this time I'm talking about the 24/7 Concealer Pencil.

As I said in the previous post, I have a difficult relationship with concealers, especially the creamy ones. I bought this because I wanted an alternative to the MUFE one (which I can't apply if I'm in a hurry because it would result in a big mess). This concealer literally didn't last me 2 h. In less than 2 h it moved all over, it accentuated the fine lines around the eyes and faded where I needed it most. I really don't understand why it happens in my dark circles zone since I'm not oily there and I always fix everything with powder. Bah.

Cream Eyeshadow:
Last I wanted to talk about this cream eyeshadow by Kiko, which is a limited edition but you can still find it both on the site and in the shops.
This is probably the worst cream eyeshadow I've ever tried. More than a cream, it seems much like a mousse to me.

I don't know if the problem is with this shade only, I've read some reviews of other people that bought other shades and they were fine. I swatched this shade (which is 100) in the shop on my hand and it seemed a lovely color, which is why I bought it. Although when you apply it on the lid it goes on super sheer, uneven and the worst thing that happened is that when it dried it was so dry that my lid actually stinged. I removed it right away and never used it.

That was all for the worst products, see you soon!
Bye!
